Senior Choir | Folk Singers | FLC Handbell Choir | Wednesday Praise and Worship Band | Cantata Choirs | Special Music

Senior Choir

The Senior Choir meets on Wednesdays from the last week in August through the third week in May from 6:45 - 8 p.m. in the Choir Room on the upper floor of the classroom building. The choir sings three of four Sundays each month at one or both services. Marcus Aulie, 9th Grade choir director in the Brainerd school district, is the director. All high schoolers and adults are welcome in the First Lutheran Senior Choir. Call the church office at 829-9552 for more information.

Folk Singers

The Folk Singers are directed by Joyce Turcotte, former longtime director of the Senior Choir. The Folk Singers sing once a month at both services. Their music is included in the monthly upbeat Folk Service on either the second or Third Sunday of the month. The Folk Singers rehearse in the Choir Room at 7:45 on the Sunday morning they sing. All high schoolers and adults are welcome in the Folk Singers!

FLC Handbell Choir

The Handbell Choir, directed by Tom Frid, play 4-8 times per year at one or both Sunday morning services. The Handbells rehearse on Wednesdays from 5:15 - 6 p.m. in Rooms 301-302. All high schoolers and adults are welcome. No experience is necessary, but note-reading and some musical background is helpful. Experienced ringers and any who are interested in this beautiful worship form are encouraged to join!

Wednesday Praise and Worship Band

This band, currently made up of acoustic and electric guitars, leads Praise and Worship on Wednesdays. The group rehearses when members are available each week. If you are an accomplished guitarist, keyboardist, drummer or other instrumentalist and would like to be part of this contemporary worship group, please call the church office at 829-9552.

Cantata Choirs

Each year during Advent and Lent, the Senior Choir presents a cantata during Sunday worship services. These have proven to be some of the most inspiring experiences for choir members and the congregation. The Cantata Choirs are open to any high schooler or adult in the congregation, particulary those who do not wish to sing with the choir year-round. Many FLC'ers take advantage of this opportunity. Cantata Choirs usually rehearse 6-8 weeks prior to each cantata

Special Music

At any time during the year, and especially during the summer, Special Music by members or friends of First Lutheran is encouraged. The Worship and Music Ministry Team has the responsibility of scheduling Special Music for summer Sundays, but the team would welcome any who wish to volunteer their musical gifts. First Lutheran's organists are avaible to accompany soloists, instrumentalists and other ensembles. Call the church office at 829-9552 to volunteer or ask further questions.
