Adult Education - Bible Study
- Tuesday evenings,
7 - 8:15 p.m. and Wednesday mornings, 9:15 - 10:30 a.m.
- The
first prong of our First Lutheran mission statement is
centered on Learning the Faith
- Bible study needs to be at
the heart of disciples who are growing in their faith.
Seeking new knowledge through hearing,
studying
and discussing God's Word is central to our ministry
at First Lutheran so that we can grow in faith and in
the knowledge
of God's grace
- During the school year, an adult Bible
study series is on the calendar most weeks. Most often,
studies focus
on one book
of the Bible and last between 6 and 10 weeks. Periodically,
a topical study is held - i.e. a recent timely study
on Islam
- Most often, a charge of $5 or less per
Bible study series is invited to help defray some of the
cost
of materials. As
always, if a cost is not affordable, one is not
required to pay it. We do not want there to be any barriers
to folks participating
in Bible studies
- Bible studies are led by the pastors
and are advertised in weekly worship bulletins and the
monthly newsletter
Sunday Adult
Enrichment Forum
- Click here for Fall 2007 schedule - Adult Enrichment Schedule
- 9:20-10:15 a.m. in the Upper Room, mezzanine level
of Koinonia building
- During the hour between Sunday services,
an educational forum for adults is held. This is a somewhat
new tradition at
First Lutheran. Usually focused on a timely topic or
on Lutheran theological themes, this class is meant to
stimulate faith
growth and a faith perspective growing out of one's
daily life experiences
- The setting is casual, so grabbing
a cup of coffee in Koinonia before coming up for the forum
is not only permissable,
it is expected!
First Fellowship
- First Fellowship is "the
fun group," as
group members proudly call themselves.
