To be a disciple of Christ is to be a giver of our time, energies and financial well-being.

First Lutheran is a church of good stewards of their resources. People realize that their wealth isn't only intended for themselves. Justice moves us to share with people who do not have what we have. Faith moves us to provide for our church's ability to stay strong in proclaiming the gospel, ministering through programs, and reaching out beyond ourselves. Our hearts know that God transforms us from self-centered people into selfless people who choose to place some of their giving into the church's mission and celebrate God's goodness and grace toward them.

We want to give you the opportunities that are available to give to First Lutheran's ministry and long-term endowment.

  • First, offerings and gifts to First Lutheran can be given through direct payment from your bank account.  This is called Simply Giving.   Simply Giving is a free service from Thrivent Financial for Lutherans.  No more checks to write or envelopes to fill.  With Simply Giving, your offering or gift comes directly to the church at the frequency you specify.  The link below makes it easy for you to set up your own giving to FLC via Simply Giving.  If you have more questions, call Judy at the church office at 218/829-9552.  To set up Simply Giving or give a one-time gift, view this link:  Simply Giving

  • Second, if you wish to give offerings or gifts to First Lutheran with offering envelopes, we will be glad to provide you with them.  Call the church office at 218/829-9552 for envelopes or more information on the General Ministry Fund, Building Fund, Church Improvement Fund, Memorial Fund or other designated or undesignated accounts.  Thank you!
  • Third, remembering First Lutheran in your will provides for ministry at FLC for many years to come. For many of us, passing on wealth to the next generation in our families has become a moot point, as many of our children have become prosperous early in life. Passing wealth on to our church is a way to leave a lasting legacy that will impact many. Understanding that God blesses us so that we can be a blessing to others is a key Biblical mandate and privilege. The First Lutheran Church Endowment Fund has the capability of receiving gifts from your estate or other forms of bequest. Policies are in place to receive gifts of securities, deferred annuities, real property and cash. We encourage you to choose First Lutheran as a beneficiary of your long-term giving. And we thank you!
